Fees and Payment Schedule
Fees
PBEnglish pays teachers a service fee for full and faithful performance of completed lessons. The service fee covers teaching services based on completed lessons.
PBEnglish may introduce incentive and compensation schemes based on client needs. Announcements, implementation, and changes may take effect immediately depending on business needs.
Payment Schedule
Teachers are paid twice a month, on the 1st and 15th, through bank transfer or GCash. Salary is settled in pesos. If the payment day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday, or another non-working day, payment will be made on the next working or business day.
PBEnglish does not issue cash advances or loans. Teacher personal information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
Resignation
For a newly hired teacher, a deposit of 500 pesos will be deducted from the first pay. This amount will be refunded after completing the standard resignation process. Notice of resignation must be given one week in advance, and all wages will be settled on the payday following departure.
If a teacher has completed more than 50 class hours by the time of normal resignation, they will also receive a bonus of 100 pesos upon departure.
Fees and Penalties System
Lesson Rate
Lesson rate refers to teacher compensation for each 25-minute lesson. If a customer takes a continuous 50-minute lesson, it is counted as 2 lessons. Lesson rate is divided into six levels. Teacher level is related to qualifications, teaching experience, and customer feedback rate, and is determined during interview or review.
Incentive
- For every 500 lessons completed, the teacher's level increases by one, adding 5 pesos per class, up to a maximum of 120 pesos.
- Enrollment incentive is 500 pesos per enrolled client for each successful demo class.
Incentives are subject to change at any time depending on business needs.
Sanctions
- Missed lesson penalty: 200% of lesson rate per lesson.
- Late class penalty: 50% of lesson rate per lesson.
- Client complaint penalty: 200% of lesson rate per lesson.
- Between each cutoff, teachers have two free cancellation rights. After that, cancellation penalties apply.
- Cancellation more than 1 hour before class after the free cancellation allowance: 100% of lesson rate per lesson.
- Cancellation within 1 hour before class: 50% of class fee.
- Absence, complaints, and cancellations may deduct class-hour credit and affect salary increases.
If a teacher cannot attend class due to special circumstances such as disaster, illness, or emergency, supporting documents must be provided. PBEnglish will verify them and may reduce or waive penalties if valid.
Compensation
If the client does not cancel but is absent from the lesson, the teacher can leave the ClassIn classroom after waiting 8 minutes and receive 50% of the lesson rate for that lesson.
Sanctions and rates are subject to change at any time depending on business needs.
